At the age of 18 years, Robert first married Mary Marsh on 22 October 1685 at St Marys, Aylesbury.

It is unknown where and when Robert and his wife Elizabeth Wheeler died. The burial register for Aylesbury seems to have big gaps in the 1700s.
There is the death of an Elizabeth Wheeler who died in January 1776 and was buried at St Mary’s, Aylesbury on 17 January 1776. The burial registered records that she was the wife of Robert Wheeler. This is probably not for her as if she was married around the age of 18, this would make her 98 years old. It is likely for a later generation’s Robert Wheeler’s wife.
