William Wheeler was born in 1698 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and baptised at St Mary, Aylesbury on 21 Aug 1698. William was the son Robert Wheeler 1667-1743 and Elizabeth Healy.
At the age of 24 William married a lady named Mary, by license, on 1 Oct 1722 at Shabbington, but her surname is not included in the marriage register index.
The Buckinghamshire Marriage Index record tells us that his residence was Aylesbury.
William and Mary had two children together who both died as young chlidren – Mary born and died in 1724 and Robert born 1726 and died 1728. Both children were baptised at William’s home parish church at St Marys, Aylesbury. It is likely Mary died in childbirth with her last child (or the next one), but her burial record has not been found.
William Wheeler married again, to Mary Thorp on 6 July 1728 in Thame, Oxfordshire. The marriage record advises that William was living at Chalgrove and Mary was from South Stoke (9 miles from Chalgrove).

Mary Wheeler, nee Thorp, died in 1753 aged 48 and was buried at St Mary’s Aylesbury on 11 November 1753.
William died in 1761 and was buried at St Marys, Aylesbury on 9 Dec 1761.
