George Wheeler was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England on 3 March 1751 and baptised at St Marys, Aylesbury on 8 March 1751. He was the son of Robert Wheeler 1729-1780 and Elizabeth Humphrey 1727-1776.
George was married at the age of 18 years on 15 May 1769 at Chinnor Oxfordshire to Ann Coles.
Their first child was baptised a few months later in November.
The marriage register states George was from the parish of Shabbington, and Ann was from the parish Chinnor.
Shabbington and Chinnor are just 7 miles apart. Shabbington is 11 miles from Aylesbury.
Ann Coles was baptised at Ickford, Buckinghamshire on 25 Septembner 1746, just a mile away from George’s residence of Shabbington at the time of their marriage in 1769. She was the daughter of Thomas and Ann Coles.
A George Wheeler was listed as a labourer of Kingsey in the 1798 (Buckinghamshire Posse Comitatas), although this may be for his son.
After their marriage, it seems the couple were residing in Kingsey, five miles from Shabbington.
George and Ann went on to have six children baptised at Kingsey –

George died in 1827 and was buried at Kingsey on 20 March 1827 the burial register stating he was aged 70 years. It is unknown where and when his wife Ann died.
