I have been unable to find his baptism but online family trees give his parents as John Croxford (1584-1619) and Alice Goswell (1589-1616).
John Croxford senior was born around 1584 and married Alice Goswell on 12 September 1619 at Ipsden, Oxfordshire. John senior died on 13 September 1619 at Ipsden. Alice Goswell was the daughter of Thomas Goswell and Phillipa Fuller.

According to online trees, John Croxford married Rachel Towne in 1636 in Sydenham, Oxfordshire, again unverified.
Rachel was born in 1616 in Sydenham, Oxfordshire to parents Christopher Towne (1586-1660) and Rachel Godwin (b 1589).
Christopher Towne died in 1660 and his will states he was of Siddenham, Oxfordshire.
John and Rachel had the following children, all baptised at Sydenham –

- Thomas b 1648 d 1721

Three of the children – John, Robert and William all inherited houses and lands in Sydenham and Kingston Blount from their grandfather Christopher Towne’s will of 1660.
John died in October 1682 and was buried at Sydenham on 19 October 1682.
His wife Rachel Croxford died in March 1689 and was buried on 18 March 1689.
